Safety and Security

At Kids Country by BrightPath, your child's safety, health, and well-being are at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to providing a secure, nurturing environment where children can learn, play, and grow with confidence, and where families have peace of mind every day.

From secure building access and comprehensive emergency procedures to highly trained educators and rigorous health and safety standards, every aspect of our centers is designed with children's safety in mind.

Secure Center Access

Our child care centers feature controlled entry systems designed to help keep children safe throughout the day. Depending on the location, access may include keycards, secure entry codes, or other controlled access systems that limit entry to authorized families, staff, and approved visitors.

During enrollment, families provide a list of individuals who are authorized to pick up their child. If an unfamiliar person arrives for pick-up, our team will verify their identity by checking government-issued photo identification before releasing a child.

Many of our centers also include additional safety features that help prevent children from leaving the building without adult supervision.

Video Monitoring

Many Kids Country by BrightPath locations utilize security cameras in classrooms, common areas, entrances, and outdoor play spaces to help support the safety and security of children, families, and staff.

Security features may vary by location. We encourage families to contact their local center to learn more about the safety measures available at that campus.

Emergency Preparedness

Our educators receive ongoing training to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations. Every center follows comprehensive emergency response plans designed to help protect children and staff while minimizing risk.

To ensure everyone is prepared, our centers conduct regular emergency drills, including:

  • Fire drills
  • Lockdown drills
  • Emergency evacuation procedures

Practicing these procedures helps staff respond confidently while creating a safe and reassuring environment for children.

Enhanced Security Measures

Many of our centers are equipped with additional emergency response systems, including emergency alert devices that enable staff to quickly contact emergency services if immediate assistance is ever required.

These safety measures are part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a secure learning environment for every child.

Caring, Qualified Educators

A safe learning environment begins with exceptional people.

Every member of our team is carefully selected and supported through comprehensive onboarding, training, and mentorship programs to ensure they are fully prepared to provide high-quality care.

Our hiring standards include:

  • Comprehensive criminal background checks, including vulnerable sector screening where required
  • Ongoing compliance with local licensing regulations
  • Continuous professional development and training
  • Support from experienced mentors and leadership teams

In addition, our centers meet or exceed local requirements for employees certified in First Aid and CPR, ensuring trained staff are always available to respond when needed.

Health & Safety Standards

We maintain high health and safety standards throughout every Kids Country by BrightPath center to help create a healthy, secure environment for children of all ages.

Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs)

Many of our centers are equipped with Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) designed for use with infants and children. Team members receive training on proper AED use as part of our emergency preparedness program.

Safe Sleep Practices

Our infant classrooms follow established safe sleep guidelines that support every baby's health and well-being.

Each infant follows an individualized sleep schedule based on their family's routine and developmental needs. Educators regularly monitor sleeping infants while maintaining an environment that is safe, comfortable, and appropriate for restful sleep.

Playground Safety

Outdoor play is an important part of childhood, and safety is always a priority.

Our playgrounds are routinely inspected to help ensure equipment and play surfaces remain safe and well maintained. Regular safety checks help identify and address potential concerns so children can enjoy active outdoor play with confidence.

Allergy Awareness

The health of every child is important to us. Our centers follow comprehensive allergy management procedures designed to reduce the risk of exposure to known allergens.

Our safety practices include:

  • Nut-aware or nut-free policies where applicable based on local regulations and center requirements
  • Careful meal planning
  • Staff training on allergy awareness and emergency response
  • Clear communication with families regarding dietary needs
  • Procedures to help minimize cross-contamination

We work closely with families to support each child's individual health needs while creating a safe and inclusive environment for everyone.

Partnering with Families

Safety is a shared responsibility. We believe open communication between families and educators helps create the best possible environment for every child.

From secure arrival and pick-up procedures to regular updates, emergency preparedness, and daily communication, Kids Country by BrightPath is committed to giving families confidence that their children are cared for in a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment every day.
